What is tim cluess?

Tim Cluess is a former college basketball coach who spent the majority of his coaching career at Iona College in New Rochelle, New York. He was born on March 9, 1959, in Long Island, New York.

Cluess began his coaching career as an assistant coach at St. John's University before moving on to various coaching positions at other colleges, including Suffolk Community College, Quinnipiac University, and Staten Island Community College.

In 2010, Cluess was named the head coach of the Iona Gaels men's basketball team. During his tenure at Iona, he led the team to six Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) regular-season championships and three MAAC tournament championships.

Cluess was known for his up-tempo style of play and aggressive defensive tactics, which helped Iona become one of the top mid-major programs in college basketball. He also coached several players who went on to play professionally in the NBA and overseas.

In 2019, Cluess announced his retirement from coaching due to health reasons. He finished his career at Iona with a record of 199-108.
